Emily Wells Scores Soho Rep Play ‘The Fires’, Single Out Now

Composer, producer and artist Emily Wells (she/her) has scored the Soho Rep commissioned and acclaimed play The Fires, the playwriting debut of writer and director Raja Feather Kelly. The surreal play follows three different men from three different moments in time in a South Brooklyn railroad apartment, “being a somebody in a world of other somebodies–while trying on love.” The play has received glowing reviews in The New Yorker and The Brooklyn Rail, as well as is a New York Times Critics Pick, in which Brittani Samuel writes, “Rarely does a show live up so honestly to its title—wrecking and illuminating in equal measure.”

The Fires had its world premiere at Soho Rep on May 8th and now runs through June 30th. Emily has released a single as well, which you can find here. For more information about the play you can go here.
