Bio

Abby Diamond (she/her) is a powerhouse songwriter and record producer known for her musical contributions in Top 40 radio, film/TV, and advertising. Diamond got her start as an artist touring with Barenaked Ladies and being awarded Best New Writer at the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Diamond cut her teeth on music production working at original music houses for advertising in New York and afterhours toplining on dance records for labels like mau5trap, as well as writing Shoshanna’s virginity loss song “Spend the Night” in season one of HBO’s Girls

After co-writing the Billboard #1 dance record “Places” by Greek DJ Xenia Ghali, featuring Raquel Castro of the show Empire, Diamond moved to Los Angeles to pursue writing with pop artists. She collaborated with Shea Diamond (Facet/Warner) on “American Pie” which has been featured in multiple films and a Google Black Trans Lives Matter ad, and Joe Biden famously danced with Shea to the song at a Human Rights Campaign dinner. Most recently, Diamond worked on records for Son Little (Anti)– with “about her. again” receiving sync placements in shows like How to Get Away With Murder – and OAR, whose song “In the Clouds” landed the band on Billboard’s Top Ten Alternative.

Diamond has worked in advertising music for fifteen years and owns Tomgirl, the only gay-, woman-owned and diverse original music house. Diamond’s projects in the commercial music space have amassed viral streams, including “Keep on Going” for the Cannes-award winning Scarlett Contra el Cancer (36 million.) Tomgirl recently composed music for Toyota campaigns for the Paris Olympics and provided music and sound design for the Game of Thrones video game Clash of the Titans

Diamond’s credits in the film/TV space include writing the theme song for Sony’s box office vampire hit The Invitation, and a reimagining an iconic song for an upcoming Nickelodeon property. As the artist BEVERLEE (United Masters), Diamond is most proud of “Begin Again” for a lesbian fight scene in Younger. BEVERLEE celebrates queer joy with a signature off kilter beat, and Billboard named her LP Purple Violin “artist-to-watch” and “oddball”, and Bitch called the record the “#1 album to get you through quarantine.”
