Netflix has released the full season of Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, a prequel to the popular Bridgerton series from Shonda Rhimes and her company Shondaland. The series focuses on the well-loved Bridgerton character Queen Charlotte and her rise to the crown. The new series continues the trend started in Bridgerton of using string covers of popular songs in pivotal or impactful moments throughout the series, which fans have loved identifying and frequently stream. The difference with Queen Charlotte is that all of the covers are of songs by Black female artists.

Brother composing duo and Spectra Creative Agency clients Caleb and Brian Chan collaborated with Spectra Creative Studio, the new division of Spectra Creative Agency focused on creative sync licensing, to arrange and produce covers of a number of popular songs, three of which are featured throughout the series and have been included on the series soundtrack released by Sony Music. The songs covered are “Halo” by Beyoncé which is featured in episode one, “Who Run The World (Girls)” by Beyoncé which is featured in episode five, and “Nobody Gets Me” by SZA which is featured in the final episode.

We are thrilled to have these covers included in the series and soundtrack, and we are excited to continue to build Spectra Creative Studio as a space for composers, songwriters, and artists to create and have an outlet for getting their work placed in film, series, commercials, trailers, and beyond. More information about Spectra Creative Studio is forthcoming.

All episodes of Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story are now streaming on Netflix, and the Queen Charlotte soundtrack is now available on all music platforms via Sony Music.
