Bio
Geneviève Gros-Louis (she/her), an acclaimed violinist, composer, and music producer from the Huron-Wendat Nation, has earned international recognition for her transformative artistry. Geneviève uses her music to amplify the voices of marginalized communities and advocate for social change, including contributing original music to the Clooney Foundation for Justice. Her work reflects a deep commitment to addressing critical issues, including mental health, the impact of sexual violence against women, and the challenges faced by Indigenous peoples.
A graduate of McGill University in Montréal with a degree in violin performance, Geneviève captivates audiences with her compelling compositions and electrifying performances. She has graced world-renowned stages and events, including the Cannes Film Festival in honor of Martin Scorsese's Killers of the Flower Moon, Paris Fashion Week, and the Santa Fe Indian Market. Her recent performance credits also include a special appearance on the Season 33 Finale of Dancing with the Stars. Museums such as the Washington State History Museum, Anchorage Museum, and Des Moines Art Center have featured her impactful music and multidisciplinary projects.
Through her studio, Wendat Records, Geneviève creates evocative scores for film and television, blending musical innovation with emotional depth. Recent projects include scoring National Geographic’s Life Below Zero: First Alaskans (Season 3) and Life Below Zero (Season 12).
Geneviève Gros-Louis is more than a celebrated artist; she is a cultural ambassador and advocate. By weaving her heritage, artistry, and activism into her work, she bridges divides, inspires understanding, and uplifts voices in need of justice and representation through the power of storytelling through music.
