'Warrior Nun' Season 2 Soundtrack Released, Music By Tangelene Bolton

Composer Tangelene Bolton’s score from the much anticipated second season of Warrior Nun is now available on all music platforms, coinciding with today's season premiere on Netflix. Created and executive produced by Simon Barry, the series follows a resurrected teen who, now imbued with supernatural powers, must defend the world against demons among the ranks of a clandestine order of nuns. With the first season leaving fans on a climactic cliffhanger, those who were left wondering will be thrilled to find that the series returns with even bigger surprises in store.

A Filipina-American composer, Tangelene is known for her previous work with Disney+ (Let’s Be Tigers) and Walt Disney Animation Studios (Just A Thought). Her palette draws from Neoclassical, electronic, folk, and jazz styles, which culminate into a distinctive sound that she was able to deliver to the series’ sophomore season and cover exciting new ground.

Taking cues from Neoclassical and Avant-garde techniques, Tangelene created a score focused on world-building and character development through strong thematic elements new to the series. She expertly warps electronic, orchestral, and traditional sounds to evoke action-packed stakes with an underlying sense of doom that pervades the entire score. Dark synths, choral chants and ominous brass suck the air out of the room, while warring drums clash with a flurry of strings that signal the advent of something apocalyptic. The music sits at the perfect intersection of conveying grandeur, darkness, and something altogether not from this world.

Warrior Nun Season 2 OST is out now on all music streaming platforms, and the series is now streaming on Netflix.
