Tangelene Bolton Writes Additional Music for Sundance Opening Film ‘Freaky Tales’

Tangelene Bolton (she/her) has written additional music for this year’s Sundance opening film Freaky Tales, an original drama film directed by Captain Marvel filmmakers Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, scored by Raphael Saadiq. Starring Pedro Pascal, Ben Mendelsohn and Jay Ellis, the film weaves four narratives set in 1987 Oakland, California, wrapped up in the nostalgia of growing up in the Bay Area amidst real historical events and at real locations, an homage to the punk, hip-hop, and grunge scenes that made up the zeitgeist of the California 80’s.

The film had its world premiere at Sundance on January 18th, 2024. You can find more information about it by going to the Sundance program page here.
