Rebekka Karijord Releases ‘Raptures’ Score Soundtrack
The original motion picture soundtrack from Raptures featuring the original score by Rebekka Karijord has released on OONA Recordings. The Swedish film, directed by Jon Blåhed, follows the Korpela movement in the Torne Valley in the 1930s.
Rakel is a strict Christian believer, living in the far north of Sweden in the 1930’s. When her husband Teodor forms a sectarian movement, with directions straight from God, she has no choice but to join the increasingly explicit cult. Raptures centers around Rakel and her growing dilemma when things start to fall apart. How can she keep her stepdaughter safe and keep the family together when her husband is getting more and more eccentric, with actions in stark contrast to her own beliefs? Based on true events and inspired by the novel "Dagning, röd!" by Bengt Pohjanen. Raptures is the first feature film ever with a main dialogue in the minority language Meänkieli.
