Apple TV+ Series ‘Jane’, Scored by Kyle Rodriguez, Wins 2023 Venice TV Award
The Apple TV+ series Jane, scored by Kyle Rodriguez (he/him), has won the 2023 International Venice TV Award for the Children/Youth Category! This award honors the companies and individuals responsible for the creation of the world’s finest work on TV, increasing national and international recognition for both producers and broadcasters who create high-quality output. Entries were accepted from all continents, with awards given to works from 29 different countries.
The series is created by Emmy Award winning writer and executive producer J.J. Johnson, Sinking Ship Entertainment and the Jane Goodall Institute. The mission-driven live action/CGI blended series follows 9-year old Jane Garcia (Ava Louise Murchison) on adventures to save endangered animals with her best friend David (Mason Blomberg) and Greybeard the chimpanzee. The overall message of the show takes its calling from the following quote from Jane Goodall: “Only if we understand, will we care. Only if we care, will we help. Only if we help, can they be saved.”
