Matthew Wang Co-Scores ‘Reno 911!: It’s A Wonderful Heist’
Just in time for the holidays, composer Matthew Wang (he/him) has teamed up once again with Craig Wedren to score the next installment of the Reno 911! franchise in its full-length feature It’s A Wonderful Heist. Directed by Christian Hoffman, the film heralds the long-awaited return of the series to Comedy Central and follows Lieutenant Dangle in his existential visions of a world better off without him, taking a page out of “A Christmas Carol” and setting it in the familiar streets of Reno.
The film and score bounce around without missing a beat, ensuring that the entire run is filled with a chaotic wackiness that transports fans back to the late 2000s in its full nostalgic glory. This timelessness and defiantly authentic revisit of the Nevada landscape makes this film’s appeal all the more charming and undeniably fun to watch.
