‘Maxxie LaWow’ Now Available on Amazon Prime Video, Scored by Dave Volpe

As we kick off Pride Month, we’re thrilled to share that Maxxie LaWow: Drag Super-shero, scored by Dave Volpe with original songs written and produced by Dave and Roman Molino Dunn, is now available on Amazon Prime Video! Maxxie La-Wow, the first animated feature about a drag queen superhero, initially premiered at the 2024 CinemaDiverse Film Festival in Palm Springs, CA and has since been screening at festivals around the country.

The film is directed by Anthony Hand and follows Simon, a shy, young barista, who’s basically hiding from life (and love). He stumbles across a magical pink wig and boom, he’s transformed into the drag super-shero of our dreams. But, of course, with great power comes a villain to match. Enter Dyna Bolical, a devious queen who’s got one goal: harvesting the tears of drag queens which have magical anti-aging properties. The film’s voice cast includes RuPaul’s Drag Race legends like Jinkx Monsoon and BenDeLaCreme.

The first original song, “Bye Girl Bye”, is now streaming on all platforms along with a slew of dance-ready remixes by DJs like Tracy Young and Dirty Disco. The song is written and produced by Dave and Roman and is sung by Angie Fisher. 

The film will be available on more platforms on June 17, and the full soundtrack album will be released that day.
